Dinghy Assistant Instructor Course 2/3 April – Call for participants….

We already have four people signed up for this course in April and still have spaces for a few more. Please let me know if interested.

What is it?

 

A two day RYA Course to provide training to become a Dinghy Assistant Instructor (DAI). Once qualified DAI’s will be able to support a Dinghy Instructor in delivering training at Felpham SC. This RYA qualification is valid for a period of five years.
Who should come? Anyone keen to help in the delivery of sail training at FSC.
Anyone keen to help who would like to formalise their skills with an RYA Qualification.
What does it involve? There will be a mixture of theory and practical training. An RYA Instructor’s Manual will be provided.

Continuous assessment will be applied to ensure that the standard required is achieved.

This course is delivered in two parts. The first part is done on the advertised days. The second part is to be done via continuous assessment during training and other sailing activities.

What does it cost? The cost is £30 per person.
Who can come?
  1. Any sailing member.
  2. Those wishing to become Dinghy Assistant Instructors should be competent sailors.
  3. Young people wishing to help with instruction are welcome.
  4. Those participating in the Duke of Edinburgh Award Scheme may be able to take Award credit by taking part in this course.
  5. A pre-requisite of the course is sailing competence beyond RYA Level 2 and an Advanced Level course eg RYA Start Racing.
How long is it? Starts at 0930, finish about 1630. Lunch not included.
