Another excellent WoW evening with 14 lady sailors out in the glorious conditions with a number of helpers.
Abi Bentley took charge of the nine more experienced sailors who each sailed their own boat and developed their racing and finer sailing skills including sailing standing up around a very small course. Much fun was had including some very narrow misses!
Paula Bentley took charge of the novices with the help of Alex Mayger and Sam Brackley. This week’s activity included tacking, and also capsize practice in shallow water! Chilly but well worth facing some people’s fears.
The 2000 also sailed with Gina Riley and Louise Ayling, and they were able to build their confidence and time on the water.
The successful sail was followed by a superb meal prepared by our Australian friend Nick who created a very tasty chicken curry followed by a baked banana with orange juice, maple syrup and cognac – mmmm!
